It’s Nice To Meet You!
About Lance Ludwig, CFP®, CKA®
Why Discipleship through Financial Planning?
This niche isn't a marketing strategy. It's who I am. It's what I believe. It's how I've been equipped to serve.
The clients I work with now share something profound: alignment in worldview. We share the same deepest conviction. We believe that Christ matters above all else. This makes it possible to have honest, vulnerable conversations about stewardship, generosity, and legacy that would be impossible otherwise.
When Christ is first in everyone's life, so many other life and financial decisions naturally fall into place. That alignment changes everything.
What Shaped My Approach
Several key experiences have shaped how I work with clients today:
1. Serving in benevolence ministry taught me that financial struggles are rarely just about numbers. They're about abiding in Christ, stewardship, and wisdom.
2. Working with clients who share a biblical worldview showed me the incredible power of alignment. When we're all committed to putting Christ first, we can have honest conversations about stewardship, generosity, and legacy that would be impossible otherwise.
3. My own journey from "get rich quick" to "glorify God" taught me that the questions we ask shape the lives we live. Asking the right questions about money leads to freedom. Asking the wrong questions leads to stress and anxiety.
4. Watching clients experience breakthrough moments when they realize they have permission to spend wisely, to give generously, to steward well without guilt, these are the moments that fuel my work.
What Drives Me Today
I learned a long time ago that I'm far from perfect. God still loves me. He still calls me to wake up each day and be faithful: seeking Him, abiding in Him, repenting when I fall, and working with all His strength to make an impact in the lives of others for His glory.
I believe God has far more freedom, joy, and growth desired for us than the vast majority of us realize. Helping clients discover that, helping families align their resources with God's heart, and watching them experience the freedom, joy, and purpose that come from faithful stewardship and abiding in Christ, that's what motivates me.
I'm not here to help you get rich quick. I'm here to help you steward well, live faithfully, and experience God’s blessings in your life.

Let's explore what faithful financial stewardship looks like for you and your family.
My Journey to Kingdom Financial
My passion for personal finance started when I was a teenager. Honestly, my initial motivation was simple: I wanted to get rich quick. That's where this story begins.
But God has a way of transforming our hearts and our motivations over time.
I taught high school math for 8 years. I later worked as a financial planner at other firms for 7 years. Over time, God made it increasingly clear that He had something different in mind for me.
He gave me a new question. Instead of "How do I get rich quick?" I started asking, "How is God leading me to glorify Him with what He's given me?" That's a fundamentally different question. It changes everything about how you approach finances, work, and life.
The Turning Point
After 7 years with other firms and just before taking the leap to start Kingdom Financial, someone gave me wise counsel: "Choose a niche based on what's most authentic and passionate to you. Otherwise, you'll burn out or lose interest." That advice, combined with what felt like one of the clearest leadings of my life from God, pointed me in one direction: discipleship through stewardship in financial planning.
In 2023, we started Kingdom Financial. Not as a side project. Not as a financial advisor who happens to be a Christian. But as a practice built from the ground up to help families align their resources with God's heart so that they can experience the freedom, joy, and purpose that come from faithful stewardship and abiding in Christ.
My Faith Foundation
I was blessed with parents who love the Lord and raised me in a solid church. I accepted Christ at a young age, but it was not until late in high school that my faith became truly meaningful to me. Our youth group and a mission trip to Malawi, Africa were particularly formative for me.
That trip changed me. Seeing radical need and radical faith side by side showed me what really matters. Through my college years, God went to work transforming my heart in ways I couldn't have imagined. He continues that work today.
Founding Kingdom Financial felt like the culmination of God bringing my faith and my work into alignment. It’s the most authentic, passionate, and true fit I could possibly serve in. Years ago, I worked in a role I could do but was not made for. Today I have no doubt that discipleship through financial planning is what God made me for.

Beyond the Office
I'm a child of God, husband to Carrie, and father to Lincoln. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find us enjoying walks and bike rides through the countryside around our rural northern Indiana home, visiting family, or attending local festivals and the 4H County Fair together. I also love reading, especially financial history, and sneaking in a round of golf when I can.
We're actively involved in our local church, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve both our congregation and the families God brings into our practice.
